I am an Associate Professor at the
Dept. of Informatics
of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Prior to that, I was a
visiting lecturer at the University of Cyprus and a research
associate in the School of Computer Science of the University of Manchester and CERTH. I am a member of Datalab (former Delab).
I graduated with a PhD from the School of
Computer Science of the University of Manchester in 2005. I also
graduated from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering
of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1999
(BSc), and from the Dept. of Computation, UMIST, Manchester, UK,
in 2002 (MPhil).
My main research interests are in the areas of
large-scale data management, massive parallelism, workflow and
business process optimization, big data analytics, data mining
and transferring research results to real-world
applications.
